Harvey History Message Forum Working Again
2 July 2008 - 12:43:10am I have finally managed to get around to setting up the Message Forum section of the Harvey History site. As yet there are no posts (except this one). You must be a member to past messages here. I had a lot of trouble with junk messages when the forum was external to PhpGedView and had to shut it down once and use a different forum with many lock-downs. I just had it working well when the whole server crashed. So here is is once again. Feel free to leave messages here as it is a great way for members to communicate. Harvey History Email and Membership Registration.
3 May 2008 - 4:48:51pm The Harvey History Email is once again working. If you applied for registration and did not get the necessary information sent to you via email in order to confirm your account details, please try to register again. If you are experiencing problems with this or any other difficulties, please click on the technical support link that is present at the bottom of every page. Remember that the Harvey Admin is the Technical Support link and should not be used to ask questions on Harvey Family History. All questions about the content of this site should be referred to the Harvey History link (also at the bottom of every page). Before to site crashed we have had more that 250 000 visits. In the last week alone there was over 10 000 visits. The next section that I will be working on will be the Harvey History Forums. This will now be integrated into the main (phpGedView) section with an icon called Message Forum. This is present but not currently functional. I will let you know when it is up and running. Harvey History Running Again
2 March 2008 - 6:48:20pm The server crashed about 2 weeks ago and a lot of the services being UNIX based had to be reinstalled. I have the Harvey History Database running (updated with the latest version of phpGedView but the Guestbook and Forums are not currently running. Also the Harvey History mails system and DNS server have not yet been restored. I am very busy at the moment and will not be able to do more for at least a week. The media files are most likely not functional. The good news is the the internet upload speed from the site has been doubled which should speed up your browsing. Database processes will still be the same speed (same old server). I restored the database from one made in November last year, so if you became a member after that you will need to rejoin.
